A Good Chair to Relieve Back Pain

If you sit in a chair for most of the day it can cause lower back pain, or make existing back pain even worse. This is because sitting in one position for hours will put pressure on the discs in your spine which creates back pain.

Almost everyone slouches over if they sit in a chair for a long time. This puts strain on the back and can damage the spinal structure in your lower back. So if you sit at a desk for a long time each day, you really do need a food chair. Ergonomic chairs provide you back with the support it needs, and help you sit with proper posture. Remember that owning a good chair is not going to solve your problems, you need to adjust the chair to suit your body.

Even if your office chair is the greatest chair in the world, it still won’t solve all your back pain problems. A long time sitting in the same position (even if it is in good posture), is still not good for your back. For this reason you need to make sure to get up every half an hour and go for a small walk or stretch.

There are quite a few different types of office chairs you can choose from when buying a chair. There is the bog standard office chair, which is what most companies provide because they are cheap. But these types of chairs don’t do much good for your back. If your boss provides you with one of these, perhaps buy your own chair (think about how many comfy sitting hours you get for your money), or try to convince your boss how much more productive you will be if you are not in pain. Good expensive chairs usually have an ergonomic design and will help you sit in the right position for your back.

You sit on your chair for hours, so choose carefully and put some cash into it, because you want it to be both comfortable and supportive.
